Linda R Fraser who hails from Cranston, Rhode Island, USA recently returned to Australia and established a studio in Footscray, Melbourne. Linda is no stranger to Australia having lived and worked in Sydney for some 15 years.

Fraser first obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts – Sculpture in 1980 from the Rhode Island School of Design, USA. In 1985 Fraser enrolled at Pilchuck Glass School and became totally seduced by glass as a medium. In 1986 Fraser moved to Sydney and over the next 15 years developed her use of sandcasting to produce and exhibit glass sculpture. More recently she has collaborated with artists Pamela Stadus and Carmel Mollison to produce a series of work at the Pratt Institute in Seattle WA.

The artist's Ned Kelly Series evolved from her experiences of 2009 Victorian bushfires and represent "the resilient nature of people and the landscape..."
